I absolutely LOVE Mistborn Era 1. Final Empire and Hero of Ages are easily some of my favorite books ever. These two books specifically have stuck with me so hard, and I've really enjoyed Elantris and Warbreaker.
I really disliked Tress of the Emerald Sea, and I'm about 60% of the way through Oathbringer and I genuinely think I dislike Stormlight as a whole. I may end up abandoning the series when I'm done with it.
So that brings me to my question - I know this is supremely subjective and all opinions are different, but how does Mistborn Era 2 stack up against Era 1 and Stormlight?
I love the world building, character interactions, and magic system in Mistborn as a whole. I don't particularly like any of those things in Stormlight. Why I'm forcing myself to finish Oathbringer is beyond me, but it may encourage me to stick it out eventually.
Mistborn has my heart, but so much of Sanderson has soured me lately I'm worried that Era 2 just won't give me back those feelings that made me fall in love with these books in the first place.
Anyway, thoughts from people who've read everything?
