As I understand it: the Entity as we know it for most of the movie is the result of when American intelligence used to sabotage the Russian submarine met another piece of intelligence aboard the submarine, causing it to become sentient, destroy the submarine and start threatening world governments and organizations. The key to destroy the entity is still in the submarine, which contains an "early version" of it, or at least the Russian part of it. Is that all correct?
