Bit of a back-story: Diagnosed with depression and anxiety at 14 years old. Went through a list of antidepressants until i found one that 'worked', or didn't give me bad side effects (ended up on Fluoxetine). Also saw a Psychologist (still do) since i was 19 years old (now 29). Weaned of fluoxetine at about 22 years old, never felt better. Recently been struggling with SLEEP, NOT MENTAL HEALTH. But my mental health has been off due to lack of sleep.

Which leads me to today. I have not been sleeping well for over a month. I've had episodes of Insomia in the past and this one seems different and the longest. Was affecting my work, mood and overall wellbeing. My usual GP is very old school and not very open with todays challeneges and how people go about health these days. He basically told me im just overthinking and its all in my head etc. I went to a different GP who i've never seen before, explained my lack of sleep lately and he prescribed Mirtazapine 30mg. He told me to do half a tablet, so 15mg for 1 week then review and see how we go. First night took 15mg, slept like a rock. BUT was extremely drowsy next day. I could not work at all (i work in a warehouse). I was off in another world, brain dead zombie just walking around. The next night i took a quarter, so 7.5mg i assume. Still drowsy, almost as bad as the 15mg, again affecting work and general life things. I've only been on this for 3 nights now. I have a review with the doc on Thursday, so 4 days time. But i think im going to take it only when needed at this point because i hate feeling this and cant do anything!

PS: I have tried Vallerian Root, Coedine, meditation which is a work in progress and does help a bit, and just general nightly hygeine things to help. Ashwaghanda and Magnesium may be next on my list as i've heard its a good combo.
