I've built my first mining rig.
Keeping it simple -
Asus Z590-P upgraded to 1017 BIOS (reset to defaults after flash). Have changed BIOS settings to enable BAR (above 4G decoding). Have tried with CSM both enabled and disabled. Have downgraded PCIe link speed to Gen2, but makes no difference.
Have also set default graphics to CPU Graphics (where my HDMI is connected.)
Used Etcher to write and verify latest HiveOS image to an 8GB USB flash drive. Trying to boot HiveOS from USB such that I can then flash M2 SSD.
I can see the USB boot flash drive in BIOS showing as a UEFI boot device, and can boot to the HiveOS boot menu with no problem. However, when I try to boot to HiveOS, I never actually see the normal timestamped Linux boot progress screen.
If I press the power button after a minute or two, PC does not shutdown immediately, like it has actually booted and is performing a shutdown, but I have almost no drive LED activity to show it booting or shutting down (maybe a quarter second LED flash around 10 seconds in and another quarter second flash 10 to 20 seconds later.)
I have a single 3080Ti plugged into a riser - I've used a 4x1 PCIe riser card with one USB cable going to a 16x riser slot - 3080Ti lights up and fans vary in speed, but the LED indicator lights on the 16x riser slot just cycle in sequence.
Any suggestions for how to get HiveOS to boot? I'm going to take the NVMe SSD out of the board and flash it directly in a caddy tomorrow, but don't know what else to try if that doesn't work.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
