I’ve tried searching the sub a couple of times in the past for a topic like this, but I seem to come up empty usually. What I was wondering was, do you save any money purchasing the miniature PCs from companies like Beelink compared to simply building your own computer with parts? I see that the Beelink SER7 is on a pretty nice sale today, and I’m pretty close to pulling the trigger on it, but I was also curious if I could get the same performance, or better for the money if I were to just buy parts For a desktop build and just put together a small form factor machine myself. Probably not as small as I could get with a miniature PCs out on the market, but I would be fine personally with a consul sized machine as well. So if size isn’t necessarily a massive deal to me, is it possible that I could find parts that surpass those in the Beelinkx SER7 for the same price if I were to just up the form factor?
I remember asking someone on the build a PC sub it about this, and the PC that they put together for may cost almost $800, which is of course quite a lot more than the SER seven on Amazon at the moment, which I think is down to about $550 with all of those coupons loaded onto it, so I thought I would ask here since you guys probably know a lot more about this than I do. Thank you for any advice you guys have!
