This mod will add a new adventure aspect to Minecraft.
In villages there will be a new villager type, the Lunatic (or whatever sounds better as a name).
In their buildings you'll find a new block type, a cork board.
Using the cork board will bring up a sort of red thread and push pin system where you can post news clippings, photos, and other such things that can spawn as monster drops, loot in chests, or other ways.
All news clippings and photos will look the same and stack up to 16 in your inventory, however when brought to a cork board they'll show information on encounters or sightings of a random Cryptid.
Using the information given (A man was attacked on a boat at sea!!!) and the biomes/structures shown in the background of the photos (A sighting of the kraken!! with a rain storm and sunken ship in the background.) you can do certain things, such as make camp in a snow biome next to a pillager outpost, to then spawn a Yeti, or be in a boat during thunder over a sunken ship to spawn the kraken.
I do not know the exact purpose of spawning these creatures yet. I don't think I want them to have cool drops, because I want the experience to be finding the creatures not fighting them.
Maybe there's a camera system that allows you to take pictures of the cryptids you find and post them in a journal and the point of the mod is to complete the journal.
Maybe some of them DO fight you and you need to escape or defend yourself.
Maybe some can be tamed and have utility as a slime farm, combat ally, or just cool decoration for a base.
Anyway, I just came up with this idea and hope someone can make it a reality! I come up with mod Ideas all the time I just don't have a way to make anything (yet). Hope you enjoy this!
