Glitched and lost lot of stuff. What should I do?

I was riding in a boat across the ocean when another player (I wont say who) who was in a boat gently collides with me. I then instantly die, saying I hit the ground too hard. Being in the ocean, this is a little unusual and uncalled for. I lost a brand new set of diamond armor, 2 diamond swords, and a diamond pickaxe, and a lot of smaller stuff. I was able to save a sword and some milk, but I lost everything else. What should I do? Is there anything I can do to recover it? Being brand new armor it kind of made me mad.
