Automatically /fill or /setblock underneath the player?

I’ve tried using the line generator from blocktools.deep-orbit.com, but I keep messing up very frequently. The solution I came up with is to calculate the angle between points A and B, and set up two command blocks on a redstone clock. One teleports me ~1 east and ~0.4140271493 north, the other is a /fill or /setblock that will use my current coordinates and place a block relative to me. How do I do this?
