Hello reddit, Shrogg here.
I would first like to say that since this is a self. post you should feel free to upvote, most of these guys should be viewed by the world, not forgotten like they currently are.
Now some people consider some of the more popular youtube redstoners to be gods. think again chaps. All the people on this list dont just make 7 segment displays, they take it a step further and actually attatch a full blown computer to the back-end of it. These guys are simply amazing.
Just check out anything that these guys have made and I'm pretty sure your minds will be blown
- icksq
So what has icksq made? Well just think of it this way. He has been creating redstone contraptions since redstone was first released. He is to be considered one of the founding fathers of redstone logic and should earn the title of god of redstone
What has he made recently you ask? well look no further than Tetris That's right, Tetris.
Amorall has been mostly, if not entirely gone un-noticed, This chap has built some rather impressive creations based around Cellular automation (See his Space Invaders game) and invented a shift register than only recently a large amount of people saw via minecraftpg5
iDeNoh is someone to look out for too, Just watch his "Advanced redstone" series if you are into the more complicated side of things (Trust me, they are good)
Properinglish has some of the most innovative redstone skills around. Take for instance his skill for converting real life algorithms into functioning redstone circuits
Hans is yet another chap to watch, This guy has some seriously cool things that are pretty geeky compared to what most people do. He also has one of the most amazing color-coding systems around.
Compared to most of the people listed so far cubehamster is a new kid on the block, Just check out his skill behind the elevator (Its pretty impressive!)
Anomolouscobra is definitely one of the best redstoners out there, he was one of the other brains behind Tetris and a bunch of other amazing redstone creations.
Now codecrafted is pretty popular, You can see why once you go to his channel and check out some of his amazing work that he has made (Take a look at his Game of Life) He has a great skill with compacting redstone and exicuting complex designs so that they work well.
Ok, so I'm pretty sure most of you would be familiar with this guy (He set up /r/redstone) He has gone pretty in-active in recent times but that doesn't mean his videos are any less relevant.
Tavirider is most well known for his amazing work with minecarts and the discovery of instant wire, While he may not be the best with conventional logic, he is most recognized for his contribution to the redstone community via his World of redstone.
TheWoodyMan is on this list because he knows instant logic, and he knows it well, We sit and wait with great paitence for when he shows us his working dual-edge instant computer (Its pretty amazing!)
- Tomys
So if the previous stuff wasn't enough then you have to be impressed by what a 14 year old can build.
Take his non-Newtonian Gas simulator for example.
Pearsquirrel is.. well i think amazing describes him well. Just watch his minesweeper video, then you will get an idea about what true redstone is.
Aha, redstonewarrior. Now this man has some serious brains behind him. Not only is he working on a terminal based computer, but he is also the brains behind some of the more impressive touchpad devices and ALUs that people have been seeing recently.
Lastly check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUXLa2rW2bk
- That's basically 256 redstone computers flashing past. I can garentee that no-one here has seen that many ALUs before in one sitting (except if you have seen the video prior to reading this :P)
Now i will be updating this post with more people as i remember them (This is only a very small portion!) also if you think i forgot someone then please reply!
Minecraft Mechanic geniuses
Ok yes, Etho. If you follow his rather large "Lets plays" then you will understand that when etho finds something happening in the game that doesn't look conventional, he will look into it and find how to use this to his advantage.
Now sethbling may not be too crash-hot on the logic side of redstone, but when it comes to creative use of it in un-conveitional ways i think you could give this man a prize. Just look at his map displays.
Edit
Ok, so i have recived some comments about how some people should be on this list and why some people should be removed. I have gone through and changed it around and re-worded some peoples explanations to correctly explain what they are good at and why they are on my list. Also, This list is a personal oppinion, so if you dis-agree with some aspects then that's fine.
Also many have asked why i dont have FVdisco or CNB minecraft on the list. The reason for this is neither of them have made any contributions to redstone as a whole (Most of this list consists of people who have created things we use daily or things that people look up too)
If i was to include most of the youtube-redstoners that i know of this list would have hundreds of people on it.
