Enchant glitch

Me and my friends began a realm together and one of them was able to get an insane amount of efficiency or sharpness on an item exceeding the normal amount. I checked and he was not using commands to create these. Does anyone have any slight idea how to replicate or why this happens. It’s bedrock edition and I’m the owner of the realm
