What’s the Best but overall cheapest way to host a public server?

Problem:

I want to host my own public mc server and my goal is to host up to 10,000 likeminded individuals. The problem is I will eventually need a good amount of ram and I don’t want to host it on my personal PC, also I don’t want to have to pay a lot of money on a good server.

My friend’s idea: My friend and I were talking and she came up with this; she has a decent quality and specs on this laptop (12GB ram and good processor… I think) that she has no use for. She said she would give it to me for 40 bucks but I would have to buy my own SSD card which is 20-30 bucks. In total it would be about 70 bucks total.

Should I go for my friends idea? What do you recommend?
