Cannot open old world file in Minecraft
Post Body

Hey all, I've done a lot of googling but can't seem to figure this out. I have an old world file I'd like to open from a server I used to play on, and I feel like I've done everything correctly, but the game just does not seem to recognize the save file. I'm playing version 1.18.1 on an M1 Mac if that matters. I downloaded the old server file, which was a large .rar file. I extracted that to "saves" in the minecraft folder in application support.

Inside the extracted folder (which is called new_world_8_4_19) there is a ton of stuff because it saved everything from the server, but there are 3 folders called world, world_nether, and world_end which I know are the important ones. Each folder has a level.dat and level.dat_old in it. I've tried just leaving those folders where they are, and even tried creating a new folder called old_server and just dragging those 3 folders over, but every time I select single player in the game menu it only gives me the option to create a new world. I do not get an option to select a saved world.

I even tried booting up a few different older versions of the game (pretty sure our server was on 1.12 when the save was made) but there is nothing there when trying to select a saved world. What am I doing wrong?? Screenshot included so you see what I see in the folders.
