Is copying your survival seed into a creative world to look for biomes?

I don't look in chests and see what there is i just go in every now and then to look for a biome of something I need, like a desert for sand or a jungle for cats and bamboo. Then I go back to the survival world and go on the journey knowing the direction to go. (I don't know really what flair to use)
