I've been working on the MCRegion file format for a few weeks. I now have a working C library called libMcRegion. Along with the library is a utility to modify world saves which has a limited ability to recover damaged region files.

I need corrupted region files (with a *.mcr extension) from your Minecraft Beta saves. If your world is small enough and you don't know which file is corrupted, then just send me all of them.

The corruption should be natural; I've already experimented with randomly damaging files myself.
