I recently cocked up my Windows install by running a file that I probably shouldn't have and am now confined to linux since I am getting a new HDD soon and don't want to fix Windows because I am reinstalling everything once the new drive gets here.
Anyway, to the point.
I downloaded Minecraft for linux (Fedora 14 btw) and installed Oracle Java so the launcher will run but I always seem to get the error "Cannot connect to Minecraft.net" when I try to log in.
I can visit the site fine, but can't log in to play and I can't play offline since the game hasn't been downloaded because that requires login.
So is it just me or am I missing something? Firewall ports? SELinux problem?
Sorry if this is the wrong place.
