I recently had to reset my Windows 10 due to an update error. Before I reset it I didn't have issues connecting to a LAN game. After resetting, suddenly there are issues connecting. Everything I've done is below.
I am able to ping the computer hosting the LAN game
The hosting computer can ping my computer
All 3 windows firewalls on both computers are off (to test)
Malware bytes is disabled
Firewalls on both computers allow java
Network discovery and file sharing are on for private networks.
The other computer can connect to my LAN game.
There is no isolation enabled in the router settings
I tried releasing and renewing the IP for both PCs and flushing the DNS
I cannot connect to the other computer's LAN game
Both versions are minecraft are 1.14.4
Both version are java are version 8 update 221
I have different mods than he does, but it's never made an issue before. I also play forge, and he plays optifine, but before I reset my windows I could easily switch between the two with no issues.
Any advice on how to get the computers to fully connect would be very helpful. I'm sure it has to do with some stupid Windows setting I'm overlooking. Thank you.
