Question on Updates (PS4)

Hey all! Just getting back into Minecraft for the first time in years so I basically forgot everything.
I just downloaded the Village and Pillage update for Ps4, do I need to create a new world to have any new features?? Or will the new stuff be loaded into my existing world's?
Playing on Survival if that means anything.
