The vent block will be a hollow "cylinder" with an input side on one end and an output side on the other end. When powered by redstone, the input side will suck in anything that is in front of it, and the output side will blow away anything that is in front of it. In the case of entities, when a vent block sucks in an entity, the entity will go through the vent block and come out of the other end. In the case of blocks, the block will move towards the vent block, however, it will not go through the vent block. Vent blocks can only move the block in front of it, and the block in back to keep them from completely outclassing pistons. Vent blocks will have a range of 12 blocks and will not be able to move the unmovable blocks like obsidian and stuff like leaves and spider webs. Vent blocks can be pushed/pulled by pistons and other vent blocks.
Why add a vent block?:
With the addition of the vent block, there would be a viable way to transport items and mobs since the water mechanics are getting overhauled in 1.14.
A legitimate translocation feature that isn't as fast but would not be a bug.
Another way to leave a block behind by alternating between vent blocks/sticky pistons (although now that I think about it, you could just do that with alternating between a sticky piston and a normal piston, although it wouldn't be as fast as 0-tick sticky pistons)
Thats about it. Before someone says that there is r/minecraftsuggestions for posting suggestions to the game, yes I know that that exists. I just thought that the people who would care more about these kinds of suggestions would normally be around here, so here I am presenting this idea.
