Welcome to The MHC (Minecraft Hardcore Challenge)

Each month the host of the MHC, Michael Deering, posts a challenge. The goal is to complete the challenge on Hardcore mode within the time given and not die in the process. The rules vary with each challenge but everything needs to be captured on video (no AKF or speedups). You'll post episodes throughout the month on Mondays and Fridays (it's ok to post a day early or late). Each episode is one day and night in game (from sun up to sun up), 20 minutes irl. At the end of the month there will be a poll to vote on the winner/s.

The MHC is a great way to not only challenge yourself to try and learn new things about Minecraft but also to get involved in gameplay recording and posting to youtube.

October MHC Announcement Video

Objective:

• Build a spacious Haunted Mansion that spawns monsters.

Game/map set up:

• Difficulty: Hardcore
• Seed: Derp Guru
• World Type: Default Biomes
• Generate Structures: ON
• Vanilla Minecraft, no mods, current version (texture packs are acceptable)

Rules/notes

• Coords: pumpkins X-250,,Z295
• Village: X-362,,Z148
• Building site X-560,,Z116 or there abouts
• No alternative world exploration (can't explore same seed in creative to find stuff)
• Only use redstone torches inside the Mansion (redstone torches do not give off enough light to prevent mob spawning)
• No sleeping in beds (can be crafted and used for decoration)
• No AFK crop growth
• Everything to be captured on video (no speed ups or video editing)
• 9 in game days
• Post videos on Mondays and Fridays ( /- a day acceptable)
