Alright, this is a rather complicated issue to explain, but last year I started a texture pack, and now Im trying to remake it for 1.6.1 and hopefully actually finish it. Im running into some difficulties with the Endermen.
Basically, I made them pale and then restructured the face texture in an attempt to make them a bit more terrifying. They have black eyesockets that streak to the sides of the head, and originally they had giant purple eyes, but changed them a bit (Yes, I changed enderman_eyes.png, not just enderman.png). I made them taller and moved them upwards a few pixels. Not only did it not look right ingame, the endermen still had white in the vanilla eye placement.
I couldnt figure this out, so I decided something must be wrong with my enderman_eyes.png. I completely started over, and this time gave him green eyes instead and made them thinner, like vertical snake eyes intended to show the black socket behind. Not only are the white eyes still there, the wider purple eyes, from the texture I DELETED, still show up behind the green eyes.
This is my enderman.png, and this is enderman_eyes.png. I dont even know what I would google to look for help on this. Is it a known problem or is Herobrine in my resource pack?
