Button 4 of Logitech M720 Triathlon unable to set as new control

Hello, i’ve recently bought a new mouse for gaming, the Logitech M720 Triathlon. The problem is that when I try to assign a new control with the button 4 ou 5 (those at the side of the mouse), it can’t, it just says none as if I clicked on nothing. The only solution I found was to, in the logi app set those buttons to do a keyboard shortcut : letter p or m since i don’t use them while gaming, so that in Minecraft I could set the control as p or m. But this seems pretty tricky, i don’t care, since it work, but does anybody know how to fix that ?
