Armour trim duping machine? (Bedrock)

I want to build a machine where someone can press a button and get an armour trim. (For the sake of simplicity It will be modular, one machine per trim type in an array)
I am envisioning an auto crafter loaded with the crafting recipe, a button is pressed, the crafter spits out two trims, one goes to the player and the other goes back into the system to the auto crafter.
Is this possible to do in a relatively small form factor? While also being idiot proof?
