Currently working on trying to get a mod pack running. According to every video I have watched I have done every step correctly and my mod is not appearing. The mod is for 1.12.2 minecraft. My minecraft was switched to 1.12.2, then opened then, closed. I then downloaded the recommended 1.12.2 forge file and installed it. Then opened and closed minecraft in the forge 1.12.2. I then downloaded my mod pack from curseforge and moved it directly to the mods folder. But when I open up minecraft and click the mods tab it is not there.

Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong?

Extra info in case someone someone is wanting to see if it works for them or not, the mod pack is called "parasite outbreak by forge labs" and was made from someone watching his YouTube video and getting the mods they saw him running and putting them all in one pack. Description does not mention any required mods, and there is not a read me file.

If someone does manage to figure out why this is failing to run for me I will greatly appreciate it.
