I'm planning a Minecraft themed "treasure hunt" for my daughter's 8th birthday that includes an in-game (Bedrock) adventure.
I'm planning on having 8 "challenges", with each one leading to the next, until the final challenge -- an in-game adventure map. Here's some of my ideas for challenges:
Sliding Puzzle
Book Cipher
Custom Wordle
Wordsearch
Balloon pop archery
Pin the PICKAXE on the diamond
Pool challenge (she'll have to find half the clue under water, and the other half will be suspended above the pool where she'll have to balance on a pool float to grab it).
The seventh challenge will reward her with a USB drive, which when inserted to her computer will open Minecraft and (if I can program it) launch a custom made adventure world, which will have an NPC who will offer to trade her the location of her birthday presents in exchange for 8 emeralds. To get 8 emeralds she will need to use the nearby portals to teleport to 8 different challenge areas.
Here are some of my ideas for in-game challenges:
Trivia buttons - incorrect answers spawn enemies
Trickshot Parkour - hit targets while platforming
Maze - Find the emerald, then find the exit.
Does anyone have any ideas for good Minecraft themed activities/challenges either IRL or in-game?
I did something similar for my nephew over 10 years ago with Java, but so much has changed since then, and I'm sure there are awesome ideas out there that are way better than mine!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
