Artic foxes keep leaving custom snow biome I built

Currently working on a “terrarium” build, basically creating a bunch of interconnected indoor biomes that are able to simultainiously contain every animal in Minecraft letting them roam. I built a snow biome, found some Artic foxes and brought them there and bred until I had about 20. The snow biome is connected to the oasis of the desert biome via a ice cave but the foxes keep leaving the artic area to go hang out in the oasis and idk why I don’t want them there but I don’t wanna lock them into the biome as it defeats the point.
