Unfortunately, I was dissuaded by my family as they were toxic and did not want me to escape them. Unsurprisingly, I have been diagnosed with depression and anxiety as well as a result of the abuse and neglect I endured growing up. I have been weaning off an antidepressant now for almost a year. I should have just signed up at 18 years old before I was diagnosed. So now, at 31, my life and career options are bleak, and I need to secure a future for myself and the family I want someday. So, I decided my best option was to receive the benefits and the MC role the Navy has as I went to school for Digital Communication. I was diagnosed with ADHD at 18 years old, yet I have never been treated or taken any medication for it. I just went to the recruitment office and mentioned it to the recruiter, who said, "Ok, so you don't have ADHD then." I am to return tomorrow to finalize the medical examination process, and I am pretty sure they will find my mental health history leading to disqualification. Im at a loss on how I should proceed. Do I be honest when I go or continue to pretend I am OK, as it seems they want me to be? Thanks
