Do you think I will be able to get a waiver for the things I did as a juvenile?
Post Body

Records are 5 years old now. They’re both medical and criminal records. Trying to join the Navy. Recruiter is telling me I just need to write a bunch of statements and I should be good to go.

On my medical record I have a couple of involuntary mental hospital trips (baker acted), and I was diagnosed with unspecified bipolar, ptsd, and SAD on my last trip to one. I have not been taking medication since I got out of the mental hospital, which was 5 years ago. I believe I do not have PTSD or Unspecified Bipolar Disorder but I cannot afford to go to a psychiatrist as I have no medical insurance anymore. I’m hoping MEPs will screen me with their own psychiatrist. My grandmother exaggerated/threatened me if I didn’t say certain things to a certain psychiatrist that was court-order because trying to get me prescribed prescription drugs and that one concerns me the most.

On my juvenile criminal record adjudication was withheld on all three charges. 1 was a felony, and the other were 2 misdemeanors. Assault/battery charges, not domestic violence. All three were against my grandmother because I was defending myself from her attacks and she exaggerated the story of what actually happened.

None of this reflects the person I am today and I am thriving, and I’m doing good things.
