prioritizing career over marriage am I selfish?
Post Body

Iā€™m a new milspouse and I finally moved in with my husband after years of long distance while I finished school.

My career aspirations are to potentially go back to school for a PhD, which is at minimum 5 years location commitment. my husband wants to select all overseas bases for his next placement. I worked hard for my career and my certification does not carry over into other countries, so job options would be very slim (pretty much only on base jobs).

We have had a debate over this for over a year now and are getting nowhere. Am I selfish to pursue my career aspirations and go back to long distance with my husband and let him choose to do whatever he wants? Do I just drop my career goals and wait for an opportunity?

ETA: I know milspouses have to give up A LOT and just deal with it and I know I signed up for this when I married him, but it sucks.
