How they make you look like the bad guy
Post Body

So some of you might remember, Grandma visited outside the window after being told absolutely not, DD was really upset, I went ballistic. Some progress was made after I read up about covert narcissists and my husband and mum had lightbulb moments. Just for context.

Non-essential retail recently reopened here in the UK and that same day I got a text from MIL with photos of baby clothes on sale asking which ones I'd like. I knew this was going to turn into "I just thought I'd drop these round", so I replied that I don't even know what size DD will be in by the time we're next able to meet, and we're fine for clothes. She said she could post them and I said, "Thanks, but as a precaution we're trying to minimise things coming into the house, so please don't send us anything in the post."

Two days later a card arrives in the post telling us that she loves us and misses us.

And that's how you end up looking like the bad guy, because if you bitch about your MIL sending a card saying she loves you and misses you during a global pandemic, you sound like a crazy person.
