So under the current circumstances my daughter (nearly 2) isn't able to see her grandparents. Not ideal, but not as bad as if she were a little older, thank goodness. My parents and brother have been sending her little videos just saying hello and singing songs and so on. We've asked and asked MIL to do the same for the last four months, and she hasn't bothered.
She's been nagging my husband to let her come and talk to the baby through the window. We've both said absolutely not - that it would be cruel because our little girl would want to go to her and we couldn't allow that.
My husband was watching our little girl this morning and I hear MIL's voice outside. Yup, she decided she'd come anyway.
And guess what? The baby got upset because she wanted to go outside to Grandma, and she spent about an hour this afternoon standing at the window and crying and saying "See Grandma!"
I am absolutely livid. It's only the latest in a long list of boundary-stomps - the other day she sent a father's day card to my husband from our daughter - but this takes the cake.
