Eddie depends on Suze: Dark Tower castings. (Super Spoilerific if you have not been around the wheel once)
Post Body

Yes. I know, he hasn't lined up a studio/streamer or started writing treatments yet but I feel like this is the key casting that will tell us whether we are getting Stephen King's Dark Tower produced by Mike Flanagan or Mike Flanagan's adaptation of Stephen King's Dark Tower.

Eddie and Suze are the mixed-race May-prince meets October-queen, primary romantic crux of the piece (all of Roland's romances are doomed and most are not sexy, especially Susan!) Their chemistry is paramount.

If Crystal Balint is Susannah/Odetta/Detta I believe Igny Rigney will be Eddie and we are looking at a casting that is very much a Stephen King story being adapted for the screen, with New York characters played by Americans and no gender or race swapping. If T'Nia Miller is cast for Suze then I feel like we get Ruth Cole as Edith Cantor Dean. If New Yorkers with London and Dublin accents and gender-flipped Eddie didn't clue you in this is the Flanagan Players presents the Dark Tower version. The former I see consistent casting and an exhausting but ultimately satisfying adherence to the canon. The latter I see everyone but the Ka-tet (Roland, Jake, Eddie, and Suze) recast for each season's part of the story, possibly replacing New York for London to accommodate the accents, and deeper single character motivated arcs built into each episode.

I would LOVE both and hope Amazon gets behind this. I don't trust Apple, Disney, or WBD to treat Mike or the Tower as either deserve. After the Peripheral and them mothballing their previous DT project I don't know why I think Bezo the Space Clown will do right but they feel like the least worst prospect who Mike did not just break-up with.

Full Disclosure: I am aware the graphic novels are a Marvel property which probably gives Disney some first refusal veto power that could be what is slowing the whole project from getting made.
