I can't talk casting on the Dark Tower sub anymore.
Post Body

Since MF acquired the rights to Stephen King's Dark Tower as a Multi-season show (with two stand-alone movies for the flashback books) I thought I would finally be saved from my least favorite thing on what should be my favorite sub. Most people's celebrity fancastings are boring and not really a point for discussing.

With MF at the helm I was saved. He is a notorious Troupe-Director. With the exception of a few roles (probably major-supporting roles at best, no main characters) he is going to cast from the Flanafamily or unknowns, not celebrities. Yet every one back at the DT sub still believes: X (usually somone who would have been good in the role suggested 5 or 10 years ago) is the only person they could see playing Y. The only suggestions I can get that acknowledge the Flanagan Troup are ones suggesting Rahul and Sauriyan should play Henry and Eddie Dean. I am all for colorizing white roles but I don't think making two characters whose defining traits are herion addiction and bad jokes 'brown guys' is the cultural messaging that works. In fact I am pretty sure they were written white to avoid the junkie-of-color trope.

Anyway, I said my piece.
