Why is MM6 the most popular of the trilogy among all of you?

This is not a scientific poll, but browsing this subreddit for a while it seems like the for the classic MM6-8 trilogy, MM6 is by far the most popular, much more so than MM8, and then MM7.
I always thought MM7 was the most refined of all of them (granted, I also played MM7 100x more than the other two). What is it about 6 that gets people so hooked compared to the others?
