Author hit enter at the end of each line

I’m editing a book and the author hit enter at the end of each line, so it’s flagging the sentence as fragmented when it’s actually not. I presume he did it so that the book would be double spaced.
Is there a way to fix this without having to go to each line individually and back spacing twice to bring the sentence back together? when I do that, it’s jumping me to the last page of the book and then I have to mess with the formatting. Just super annoying.
