Tab+Numbering Format

Good Morning All,
I’m working on a document that has lots of formatting in it. In each section is the base number, then sub-lettering and such.
Example: (Slide 13) Build the right PC a. For a work station: i. Notes pt.1 ii. Notes pt.2 iii. Notes pt.3 iv. Notes pt.4
2 computers that both run Office 2016. One PC, I hit tab and it automatically drops down to the next sub-letter. The other PC, the one I’m typing all of this on, doesn’t. The second PC just indents the initial Number further and further until I hit enter, moving to the next number. My question is this: How do I get the 2nd PC to use tab like the 1st PC? Is there a setting in word that I'm missing?
