Hi everyone,

I'm using Teams Version 1.5.00.33362 (64-bit) on my work issued Surface Laptop 4 running Windows Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045 and cannot get Teams to recognize any Speaker, Microphone, or Camera! It all started on or about 24 November 2022 and my IT department is as confused as I am in trying to remedy it. Here's what I see:

https://preview.redd.it/hvj6rem96eca1.jpg?width=998&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4bea3bbe45b750cfea2c646c3ccd755a34e53e8a

And here are some of the things I've observed:

  1. I use my laptop connected to a Surface Dock and an external Dell Monitor and prior to 24 November 2022, everything worked fine-- was able to use my Bose Noise Cancelling Earbuds 2 and Logitech C930e webcam on Teams meetings with no issues.
  2. After 24 November 2022, I couldn't change my Speaker or Microphone on Teams nor could I select any camera on Teams. Teams wouldn't recognize the laptop's own built in microphone, speakers, or webcam either.
  3. For whatever reason, if I disconnect my laptop from my dock and just use the laptop itself, Teams works fine and recognizes everything-- built in microphone, speaker, and webcam along with my bluetooth headphones. Using a USB keyboard connected to the laptop doesn't seem to negatively impact my experience either.
  4. Teams when connected to my dock with external monitor is just really laggy-- sometimes, clicking around just takes ages for whatever screen to load and Teams restarts or "runs into an error" every so often. I'm not sure what is causing this or even what the error is!

My IT Team and I have tried everything we could think of, including the following:

  1. Switching out hardware (docks, laptop)
  2. Clearing cache
  3. Uninstall/Reinstall Teams app
  4. Trying Teams web
  5. Trying different users on my machine

Note, I also looked at this reddit page, which seemed like a similar issue to mine, but couldn't figure out any troubleshooting steps, as Teams web doesn't work for me either. https://www.reddit.com/r/MicrosoftTeams/comments/ss9vae/teams_update_breaks_video_and_audio/

And all have failed. The worst thing is that my machine works fine in the office with no intervention on my part when connected to a dock and external monitors! I can already hear the IT solution coming (that is, "Well, guess you'll have to work from the office then!") but I really don't want to do that. I just want to be able to work on an external monitor while at home! Any thoughts or solutions we can try out next? This is a real pain, as this issue only happens on Teams and my machine is able to recognize its own speakers and externally connected speakers/microphone in other apps (Zoom, Google Meet).

Thanks for your help.
