Now and again, I come across a local university that's looking for people to participate in medical (non drug-related) studies. For instance, I recently participated in a study for the vaginal biome. The lab results will be sent to all participants (a run-down of your vaginal bacteria isn't something you can easily order from a doctor, you know? That's why I'd like to participate in more studies).
Going forward, I'd like to participate in bowel-related studies because it's difficult to get doctors to approve procedures just for the sake of satisfying your own curiosity (also, insurance sucks). Endoscopies, for instance. Insurance not likely to pay unless there's a risk you have cancer.
I want to set up a google search alert for local bowel-related studies that are in need of participants but I'm at a loss for what medical phrases to use in my search
Other than endoscopy, what other procedures are typically (or even not typically) done in bowel related studies?
