Hello, as you all may have seen yesterday, I just got added as a mod here. The main reason for this is to help clean up the spam posts that plague this and other subreddits, hopefully making things more fun for those of us who are in fact real. We are starting a few new measures to prevent spam that should cut out 99% of the posts before they even show up on this subreddit.

Mainly, we now have automod set up to prevent accounts under the age of 30 days from posting. Since most spam/bot accounts only stay on reddit (before being banned) for a few days tops, this should take care of nearly all of the spam. We are aware that there may be individuals who are real and want to participate with new accounts, however we must ask you to be patient and let your account age before posting here.
Any under 30 day accounts that continue trying to post may be automatically banned from the subreddit indefinitely, so please don't be dumb. Spamming posts won't do anything since they are removed automatically, so you can't fight an attrition war against the mods to get your posts through.

We also have a few other warning and spam prevention measures, and may add more over time if required. While these measures work 99.9% of the time, there is a chance that it might throw a false positive. If your posts get removed as spam or you get banned but you are in fact real, send the mod team a message and we will investigate and fix things if you are found to be following the rules.
