Currently I’m a PT CEM and my store manager wants me to take the merchandise manager spot when our current one gets promoted. Ive briefly worked with our current MM but will be shadowing him some more the next few weeks to better see if the position is for me. I need a FT job sooner rather than later since I’m currently working 2 PT jobs (adding up to 60 hrs a week) and it’s just tiring - I know I can’t keep this schedule up forever. But ultimately I’m not sure if I should take the position because at the rate we have to hire on any new help I doubt they’d pay me much more than I’m making now to take the promotion. Plus that’d mean I’d have to quit my second job since it’s only early mornings over there so I’d be losing my second income.

Ultimately I feel like the pay will decide what I’ll be doing. So merch managers if your comfortable sharing: how much do you get paid and what state do you work in? How much should I be expecting/asking for? And any tips in general would be appreciated :) thanks
