Michales gets a tax break for donations and participating in "Project Sunshine." Iโm all for good and quality charities but when you go down the rabbit hole you find some interesting information. Not only does michales get a tax break from Project Sunshine but they cap it at a dedicated amount and then michales pockets/profits on whatever number above their agreed amount they'd "donate" all at customers expense. Very disturbing...
I have talked to some families that received the crafts delivered by project sunshine and the got a ziplock bag with: 1 pencil, 1 piece of construction paper, 3 stickers, and 1 marker, thatโs it. Curious if other families received the same thing or was that scenario just a fluke. ๐คท๐ป
I remember one year we did some small book donation in 2018 where the customer would buy a specific $1 book for a child on the register counters and we would place it in a big bin behind the register when purchased. At the end of the night the SM would have us put back the books from the bin back on the register to make more money. Very shady!
