Fishing in Miami
Post Body

Would you guys mind sharing awesome fishing spots and/or tips?

I went today to Holiday Park up in Ft. Lauderdale, a spot edging the everglades. The staff over there was terrible and unfriendly (at least the ones at the shop).

Today's storm prevented us from renting a small boat for fishing ($15/hour 3 hour min), so we just fished by a dock. It was great! In fact much better than the typical saltwater fishing boat 'tour'. I was also impressed by the amount of 'wildlife' we saw. We were merely at the dock and saw snakes, turtles, lots of fish and tons of alligators.

We caught 4 good-sized fish (bass and something else)... and we also had to cut the line due to a gator. People around us were also getting bites from turtles unfortunately.

Share your tips, /r/miami!

[edit] Also, where do you guys buy cheap bait?
