I can't be the only one. On the plus side there was no traffic so I stopped at BK for a sausage biscuit. Woohoo! It's the little things.
I lock the door when I'm alone in the office 😂
You're leaving right? Empty offices scare me, lol.
Awww man that sucks, hope they are safe. It does look like it's a smaller storm and will only be a 3 by the time it hits land so that is a better scenario than two days ago.
But Miami was perfectly safe today and to say otherwise is being disingenuous.
I agree, but a lot of people are off regardless of how nice the weather is. It is what it is. I'm not making a commentary on whether people in Miami and Broward should have the day off or not, I'm just asking who is off. Believe me, I do not panic with hurricanes, I've been through them all starting with Andrew.
Yes, first time in quite a while.
Well, my boss is here, and not really. We've had more rain and wind on a normal day, so you can't really make a blank statement like that. Honestly, it would be nice to have the day off, but there really is no reason weather wise to have it off. If the sole reason you leave a job is because they did not give you today off you sound like a horrible employee.
It's very different now from decades ago. I asked a guy in the office elevator yesterday when we we heading out if they were closed and he was like, of course. I work in Hollywood, but it's actually very nice today (SO FAR). back in the day people did not get a day off unless you were getting a direct hit. I remember when I was working in Ft. Lauderdale during Wilma, we got off the day before so we could secure our homes, but it's not the general panic and crazyness that you see now. I'm not hating on anyone, we get a generous 3 weeks paid time off at my job so I can't really complain.
