Questions About Making a Custom Power Switch for MiSTer
Post Body
I am looking to wire up a power button for a custom case design and I have some questions. For reference I use a Meanwell 4A supply and a SSD attached to the MiSTer.
- For this design, I want to use a latching pushbutton switch. I cannot seem to find a small form-factor switch like this that is rated over 3A @ 12V DC. Does anyone have a recommendation here? I have tested with the 3A switches I have and it works, but I believe the SSD may tip it over the 3A limit. A momentary switch is also fineif there is a way to make it work.
- I am planning to basically splice the switch long the positive wire of a Male to Female barrel jack cable between my Meanwell supply and the MiSTer. Is this the best way to set this up?
- Somewhat unrelated: Is there a 5 port USB hub you personally recommend? Preferably under $50.
