Mi box 4k 2nd gen - Unable to sideload apps

Hello guys, I bought the new 2nd gen mi box. Everything is great except the sideloading. I’ve tried with multiple file explorers, and downloader app. But nothing works. When I click on the APK it shows the staging app progress bar and then nothing happens. The same app was installed on the 1st gen mi box and it’s fine.
Any ideas?
