How to determine L E2=(2.5+5L/1000) um

Iām not quite sure if the āE2ā means anything more than just have āEā. I have a loose understanding of what this means. It gives the accuracy over the given length, āLā. How is L determined? I am trying to make sense of how accurate a vision system Iām using is. Is it the entire stage length, or is āLā more appropriate applied to the length of the part being inspected l?
