The idea that Samus is considered a silent protagonist bothers me

Despite other m having arguably too much dialog Samus has been usually quiet in her games…but I wouldn’t claim her as a silent protagonist nor would I want her to be. I think fusion does a great job given us her thoughts as she goes down elevator shafts as well as the few words she does say via text toward the end of the game…it feels right that she is independent from the player unlike link who is a direct connection to the player in the Zelda games.
It’s always bothered me when people bring her up in the silent character discussion and feel like a minority here…am I wrong?
