Hey folks!
Switching from an old Pixel 2 to a Pixel 7. Been with Metro the whole time.
I have a physical sim card. Tried just sticking it into the new phone, but the 7 said "sim 1 not allowed." Did some poking around on Reddit and found out I needed to update the IMEI through Metro.
Tried it through both the app and the website. Both said the Pixel wasn't compatible with my current plan ($30/mo, 2GB data). I'm guessing they want me to pay for a more expensive one, but I won't be. So I'm switching service providers. Thinking of going to either Mint, US Mobile, or Visible (if you have opinions, feel free to chime in).
Just paid my bill on the 20th. I know I'm not gonna get any money back, but do I need to manually cancel my service before activating the phone with a new provider? Should I just wait until the next billing cycle, let the payment lapse (I'm not on autopay) and then go to a new provider? Advice appreciated.
