A previous thread reported that Missouri high school track & field would measure field events in metric this year. They have gone ahead of college and USATF events in REPORTING the metric to the audience and media. (College and USATF attempt to show both, but give priority to the Customary conversion if the scoreboard can't accommodate both and the media routinely reports the Customary conversion only. Kudos to Missouri for no conversion charts, no feet & inches nonsense.
Snippet:
Heights and distances for field events were measured in meters as MSHSAA converts to the metric system this season.
Junior Kaylee Rampani had the top throw in the girls javelin with 34.19.
Sophomore Vada Moore placed second in both the girls long jump (4.71) and triple jump (10.01).
