The author has the right idea. Unfortunately. some serious misunderstandings as well:
Its two electric motors produce a combined output of 300 kilowatts, but only after they are fed the 80 kilowatts of power the battery supplies per hour.
That would be a fine perpetual motion machine of the 1st kind with a generator to recharge the battery. Sadly it is an 80 kW·h battery pack.
