Switching from methadone to suboxone on my own - tips!!

What is the best way to go about switching from methadone to suboxone without getting sick?? I’ve been able to do oxy interchangeably with methadone and not get sick, will it be the same?? But I’ve also put myself into withdrawals in the past by using suboxone too soon after heroin and it was the absolute worst. I’m trying to avoid that at all costs. Would it be best to use oxy for a week then start the suboxone since I know that I won’t get sick that way?
